The Edinburgh Book Lovers’ Tour was born in 2005 to support and publicise Allan’s book, The Literary Traveller in Edinburgh (now out of print).

The revised and updated second edition, Book Lovers’ Edinburgh, A Guide and Companion, was published in 2018, and is available for purchase at the end of the tour or online.

Allan’s other books include The Movie Traveller, A Film Fan’s Travel Guide to the U.K. and Ireland; The Literary Traveller in Scotland; and Sherlock Holmes and Conan Doyle Locations, A Visitor’s Guide.
