Allan Foster is a writer and tour operator in Edinburgh, Scotland. To date he has written seven books on both literature and film.

 

In 2005 he created The Edinburgh Book Lovers’ Tour, primarily to promote his Book Lovers’ Edinburgh: A Guide & Companion, launched during the Edinburgh International Festival. He expected it to last a few weeks, but its runaway success has ensured it is still operating today for book lovers from all over the world.

 

Allan lives in the Scottish Border country with his long-suffering wife in a cottage by the banks of the River Tweed, where he writes and reads endlessly.
